Diploide, lisa y carne roja (con semillas). Planta muy vigorosa con gran capacidad de rebrote y cuaje. Frutos uniformes, de color verde muy oscuro, sin estrias, interior rojo intenso con pocas semillas.
Roja de día largo. Características similares a la valenciana de exportación, pero con el bulbo color rojizo y carne morada. Peso de 175-225 gr y conservación de 6 a 8 meses.
Sabor ligeramente picante. Siembras de noviembre a marzo y recolección en septiembre.

The whole plant has a strong acrid flavor, although the bleaching of the stems in the crop causes them to lose these qualities, acquiring a sweeter flavor and the characteristic aroma that makes it a good ingredient of salads and soups.
